Habitat GV Build – Argil Armenia Dedication

Argil, Armenia – 2016. On the final day of our build there was an official dedication of the house which was performed by a local Priest from the Armenian Apostolic Church which is the national church of the Armenian people. The ceremony included a blessing of the house and family and used bread, salt and water which are believed to be the three fundamental elements which are essential life-giving gifts for human life. After the Dedication ceremony we all went to a picnic area by the river and had a traditional Armenian BBQ.

In Armenia there are two ways of preparing meat – Kabobs or BBQ. Kabobs are always ground meat with spices and BBQ is pieces of meat.
